It is one of those things, that the TJ designers should have done from the factory. The 4WD shifter pivot assembly is attached to both the body and the drivetrain. This is very much of a problem if you are doing any type of body lift. This is also problematic if you think about how much drivetrain moves around with respect to the body. Not a hard install, but removing of the transfer skid plate is required.
<<<Procedure>>>------
1. Removing the skid plate, shown how to here.
2. When you get the kit, the bracket will look mostly like what is shown below.
3. You will have to grind some portion of the bracket to clear a little notch on the transmission(AX-15).
This is how much I had to grind.
4. You will also have to transfer lever mouting hardware off of the body that you will have to loosen and remove from the interior of the driver side near. It is near the shifter and you have to remove the carpet to access them.
Once that is done, transfer pivot assembly into the Advanced Adapter as shown.
5. Now you will have to remove two bolts holding the original bracket and sandwich the AAdapter behind it and retightened them back up.
6. You are done!

| same idea? where you remount the linkage to the t-case and not the body? but you use the stock lever? |

well that seems 100000% better than the other option
Have you had any issues with it coming loose, popping out of gear? any negative side effects?

not sure because picture is not there but I would guess it is the same one
I wonder how it would impact the 33 Engineering belly up skid? it seems a bit bulky. That is why I am so interested, my plan is to eventually get that sweet skid! |

I got the bracket from 4x4groupbuy.com.
I wouldn't know how it would affect the belly ups. It is hard to say but I doubt it will hurt compared to the stock set up. |

Belly ups are just the opposite. Instead of needing a bracket to lower the mounting point you need a bracket to raise the mounting point.  However this bracket gizmo should serve the same purpose since its not using the body mount like most body lift kits supply.
So far I'm running a NthDegree Tummy tuck and its body mounted meaning stock mount. I haven't had any binding issues and my T-case shifts just fine. There is a bit of an angle since I'm lifted a few inches opposed to hanging down stock height plus a Transfercase lowering kit. |

Hey Kizer, I haven't seen you for awhile. How does the 1" body lift play into this whole thing?
Is the body lift "required" for the nth tummy tuck? How do you like the Stinger set up? Is there provision built in for their long arm kit? |

Welcome to the forum. It was bolt on mod for the most part, except for the grinding portion.
I didn't have to do any lengthening or shortening.

I was linked to this forum for another club. When I did my body lift, I had to fab up an adapter for my linkage. Ever since, my jeep has rattled leaving stop lights, and squeaked incessantly... All the noise was coming from the Tcase linkage. I bought this adapter, and followed the small write up here. NO MORE SQUEAKS!!! NO MORE RATTLES!!!! Just wanted to say thanks for the write up!!!!
