Hey all! Great forum, I've spent the past couple hours reading the posts. I can see a new rear main seal replacement in my future. I've got a problem I hope someone can help with. It's a long story, but I've broken both of the rear cross member bolts. I'm talking about the ones on the bottom of the member that provide part of the support for the rear bumper.

Of course by this time I've soaked the bolts in penetrating oil, broken an easy-out, and tried to weld a new bolt to what remains of the old one. Given the level of corrosion on the broken bolt I doubt that anything will get the remains out. My next thought it to take a hole saw and drill around the captured nut and then weld a new one back in it's place.

Has anyone else solved this problem?

TIA
